Our Team

• Big boss, teacher and aspiring artist

  I’ve been a freelancer all my life. I worked in recording studios for over 30 years, recording music at first and since 1995, working in post production, recording mostly foley, but doing a fair amount of voice-over recording (narration and dubbing). The job itself was awesome, the working conditions, not so much…

  In 2012, in between recording gigs, I started doing jobs for my boyfriend’s Web design agency, doing content management for WordPress websites, and in 2014, I realised that my time would be better spent learning this new line of work. His business has since grown considerably, and I now work mostly doing web projects, ending my foley recording career in the fall of 2021. 

  Parallel to this, I started oil painting in the early 2000s. Frustrated by the fact that I could see clearly what I wanted to do but had no idea how to do it, I decided to further my education by reading tons of books, watching videos from renowned artists and harass my teachers with questions. Until one day, one of my friends suggested that I start teaching, which I have been doing now since 2012.

  A few years back, I hear someone say: “Entrepreneurship is like a quilt. We take the many parts of our lives and see if we can’t make something new with it”.

  With my knowledge of sound, web design and oil painting, it seemed increasingly obvious that my next step would be to offer my oil painting for beginners’ class online, in video format. It was its natural progression and is the raison d’être of this site.

  I am presently in the heart of production and I just cannot wait to share this course with you!

  I can’t imagine my life without music!

  It’s been part of my DNA for as long as I can remember. And for a long time, it was the centre of my existence, practicing 4 times a week with my band, composing, doing shows, recording in studios, self producing our CDs… We did everything we could to succeed, but to make your living with music in Canada in the early 90s was not easy, and in 2000, the band members (those that were left) had to unfortunately go their separate ways.

  In 2008, after 20 years in my “temporary job” at an industrial printing company, I decided to quit and become a freelance website designer, a side hustle I had a passion for that became my new career. Today, I am now co-owner of a media design agency (web/graphic/branding), working with a great business partner/artistic director and an awesome team.

  But the story doesn’t end there. In 2014, the original band members from 1984, reunite to celebrate the bassist’s 50^th birthday and decide to do a “reunion show” just for the kick of playing together again, to the great enjoyment of family, friends and diehard fans. We woke up the beast… Since then, we meet regularly to practice and even do a few shows a year (visit our Facebook page for more details).
